RUNNING TREASURY GLOBALLY
Today Treasury information systems should be able to present a real-time dashboard view from which you can slice and dice down to the details across bank account information, liquidity status and forecast, risk concentrations towards price, credit, operational and business risks, cost of capital as well as asset and company valuations.
However, integrated Treasury information remains a challenge. Treasury management software that integrates cash, liquidity, capital, asset, risk and balance sheet management still does not exist. Instead, so-called Treasury management systems focus predominantly on cash and liquidity management, and some also on valuation of selected securities. Risk management systems for corporates mainly stem from the banking world and therefore actually cannot be applied 1:1 to a corporate business structure.
Integration of Treasury information in a group structure means to install lots of software interfaces, adapters and hubs. This is a permanent task considering software updates or organisational change and bears the potential for glitches.
Disappointed with the status quo in Treasury software development and encouraged by many clients we started to develop a native-styled Treasury management web application in 2009, called VirtualTreasury, that runs in any modern web-browser without plug-ins.
VirtualTreasury covers liquidity, capital, risk and balance sheet management, incl. such as mark-to-market and mark-to-IAS/IFRS Monte Carlo simulation, IAS 39 hedge accounting and IFRS 7 reporting. VirtualTreasury can be easily linked to cash management systems from banks or external providers so that users experience a fully integrated Treasury management functionality.
VirtualTreasury was designed by Maravon executives who developed - in their previous roles - the proprietary "Treasury Management Information System" with one of Germany's biggest industrial conglomerates. With new software development frameworks for web business applications upcoming their mission behind VirtualTreasury has been to help also Treasury management become globalised.
Once you have chosen and activated VirtualTreasury, Maravon consultants or accredited business partners help you get the maximum out of VirtualTreasury for your organisation. For more information visit Maravon's Technology website.
